General Course Description

The Japanese Language course aims to provide students with a comprehensive study of the Japanese language in terms of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as a broad understanding of Japanese culture and customs through active participation in extracurricular classes such as company tours, exchange meetings, and local events. In acquiring the necessary proficiency in Japanese required for study at a university or professional school in Japan, or to find a job, students study Japanese language by the direct learning method in small classes geared to their ability. We also offer a special curriculum to prepare students for Japanese Language Proficiency Test and the Examination for Japanese University Admission. In order to cultivate Japanese language ability in stages, the year is divided into four terms, with the basic course beginner's level aiming to cultivate Japanese language ability at the level of N3 to N4, and 1 year intermediate course and 1.5 year course aiming to cultivate ability at the level of N1 to N2.

Requirements for taking the courses

Those who have received more than 12 years of education in school. Those who have studied Japanese for more than 150 hours or have passed JLPT-N5 or equivalent.

Method of Payment

Please pay the entire course fee upon receiving notice of acceptance (although payment by installments can be also arranged upon consultation).

*No course fees can be returned after payment. However, should an applicant’s residence qualifications not be recognized, the full amount will be refunded. If the applicant wishes to continue the intermediate course after completing the beginner’s course, the entrance fee and application processing fee are exempted.

As for the other costs, the class materials fee, general insurance for foreign students and medical examination fee should be paid upon admission to the institution.

Qualifications for residence

A student visa is issued to students of this institution’s Japanese language course which is for students residing and studying in Japan.

Guarantors

In order to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay in Japan, our academy asks that foreign students have a guarantor while residing in Japan. It is desirable to have a guarantor in Japan, but it is also possible for a family member in your home country to be your guarantor.

Regulations for acting as a guarantor:

In principle, a person who lives in Japan and has an occupation. If the guarantor is a foreigner, the guarantor must have a good command of Japanese or English.

Role of the guarantor:
  • Carrying out admission procedures on behalf of the applicant.
  • Assuring that the foreign student studying in Japan does not conduct activities other than those allowed for such students
  • Providing necessary guidance and assistance to the student regarding studies and daily life. Guaranteeing living expenses and travel expenses back to the student’s home country.

School Life

Lodgings

The school has dormitories. Students wishing to reside in the dormitory should apply.

Lodgings: 15,000 yen ~ /month according to room. Utilities: Actual costs incurred. Rents for private apartments range between 30,000 and 50,000 yen a month in addition to an honorarium(reikin) and a deposit (shikikin) which are both paid at the outset.

Health

Students at this institution take out the following forms of insurance as a provision against unexpected accident or illness:
National Health Insurance (Kokumin Kenko Hoken):
Approximately 18,000 yen/year or approximately 1,500 yen/month
General insurance for students studying abroad
(Ryugakusei Sogo Hoken): Approximately 2,200 yen/year

Scholarship system

The school has its own scholarship program. There are also external scholarships and awards for excellence and perfect attendance from our support group which provides many forms of assistance to our students.

Guidance regarding daily life and studies

Students having problems or worries regarding daily can consult with us at any life, studies, or promotion time. We also conduct regular interviews about studies and further education.

School activities

In addition to classes, the school also holds extra-curricular activities such as study tours of corporations, field trips, as well as sports events, get-acquainted gatherings and festivals. We promote exchange with Japanese students and the local community, enabling students to experience Japanese culture and customs. Also, our support group provides many forms of assistance to students studying abroad.

How to apply:

Send all application documents and the application processing fee (20,000 yen) by registered mail or deliver those items personally to the school.
* The application processing fee paid is non-refundable.

2. Selection and notice of acceptance
Selection:

Judgment is made by reviewing the submitted documents and conducting a personal interview with the applicant and an interview with the guarantor. (In the case of recommendation, there is also a written examination and an interview with the applicant).

Notice of acceptance or non-acceptance:

The sponsor is notified of acceptance or non-acceptance. Applicants who receive a notice of acceptance should carry out admission procedures, following the methods stipulated by the school.

3. Admission procedures

Upon receiving a notice of acceptance, make payment by sending a bank draft to the school’s designated bank account.
# If qualifications for residency are not accepted, the entire amount will be refunded.

4. Issue of a certificate of admission

Upon confirming that the amount for the first school term has been sent, we will issue the certificate of admission and send it to the address of the guarantor.

5. Certificate recognizing residence qualifications.

The school will carry out the procedures for requesting issue of a Certificate of Eligibility from the Hiroshima Regional Immigration Services Bureau.
(It generally takes more than two months for issue of the Certificate of Eligibility).
Upon receipt of the certificate recognizing residence qualifications from the Regional Immigration Services Bureau, this will be sent to the guarantor.
The guarantor should then send the certificate and the notice of admission to the applicant.

6.7. Applying for and issuing a visa

The applicant should take the following documents to the nearest Japanese consulate and carry out the required procedures in applying for a student visa.

  2. Certificate of admission
  3. Passport

8. Informing about anticipated arrival in Japan

The guarantor should inform the school about the student’s anticipated date of arrival in Japan.
